Utilities Engineer

 

Description:

In this role you have an opportunity to be involved in our program to maintain and improve our water and sewerage services and systems including being involved in the planning of the renewal and construction of water and sewer treatment plants. You will also be responsible for providing technical advice and support to the activities of the Utilities Unit, including; Capital Works, Maintenance Works, Strategic Planning, Contractor Management, Project Management, Government Department Liaison and Reporting.

Key criteria to be addressed in the application:

  • Hold a Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in the water and sewer industry.
  • Hold a current and valid class "C" driver's licence.
  • Knowledge of water and sewerage reticulation/mains, pumping stations, reservoirs and treatment plant construction and operation practices, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Excellent and practical knowledge of WHS requirements including the ability to proactively manage risk and WHS requirements within area or responsibility.
  • Proven ability to solve problems through analytic reasoning and interrogation of a wide range of information. Proven ability in designing and delivering projects, programs and services in accordance with agreed standards, timeframe and budget.
