Underground Manager

Our client is a large Mining House with lucrative projects currently underway. This is an excellent time to join a growing mining house and develop your career alongside the project. With an already successfully operating mine that has produced excellent results thus far, this is the chance to really make a difference and influence Day to Day Operations. Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will manage and coordinate all aspects of the underground operations to meet all safety, production, and cost targets. You will ensure that all mining and planning activities support, and are driven by, the short, medium, and long-term needs of the mine and fully aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of the business unit and Company.

Reports to: Mining Manager

Duties

• Responsible for Underground Operations
• Generate operating plans and budgets that align with the Company's operating requirements and maximize, as practicable, the underground mine's positive contribution to the operation.
• Devise and implement strategies and action plans to ensure that the mining operations support the Company's strategic initiatives.
• Provide technical support to the mining operations as required.
• Analyse and report on mining operational performance to identify any early interventions required to maintain performance.
• Communicate with mine personnel on a regular basis, keeping them informed on the status, direction and targets of the operation.
• Develop, implement, manage, review and improve safe systems of work for underground mining operations to ensure compliance to legislation, company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Tertiary qualification within Mining Engineering
• Minimum 8 Years Underground Mining Experience
• 1st Class Mine Managers Certificate
• Strong Supervisory Experience
• Excellent Communication Skills
