Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Undergraduate Accountant to join our finance team. This role plays a substantial part in ensuring smooth operational inventory and assets processes whilst supporting with a "hands on" approach.
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for assisting the Inventory & Asset Accounting team in providing accurate and timely recording and client reporting of Work-In-Progress, Capex, Fixed Asset transactions and Inventory movement transactions in accordance with relevant accounting policies and agreed timeframes.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reconciliations of the Inventory accounts
- Timely processing of sub ledger transactions for both inventory and assets
- Prepare journals required for responsible areas accurately and by the required dates
- Ensure Purchase orders are closed in a timely manner
- Maintain materially accurate sub ledgers
- Assist the Inventory & Asset Accounting team with ad-hoc requirements
- Assist other Finance team members as required
- Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation, codes, policies & procedures
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with Management, staff and peers.
- Comply with safety and security laws and other relevant regulatory requirements
About You
- Working towards a tertiary qualifications in accounting and or related field (or nearing completion)
- Understanding of accepted accounting practices and principles and commercial practice
- Analytical and research skills with ability to acquire sufficient technical knowledge to understand key business drivers
- Well developed communication skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of the personnel and external advisors
- Problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to develop innovative and practical solutions
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
- Excel skills
- Flexible with ability and commitment to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure
- Initiative to solve problems and assist team members when required
