Description:
Reporting to the Director of Training Products and Projects, the Training Product Development Lead is responsible for developing high-quality, industry-led training products across all the industry sectors under the SkillsEquipped remit.
In this role, you’ll work in consultation with industry, government Government and stakeholders from across the Education and Training Sector, in particular within the Vocational Education & Training (VET) environment, you will develop nationally recognised training products.
These include qualifications, skill sets and units of competency, as prioritised by industry or as directed by Skills Ministers, following the Training Package Organising Framework (TPOF). You’ll also be responsible for the design of compliant resources to support the delivery of nationally accredited training products. Your remit will encompass:
Product Development: With responsibility for the end-to-end design and development of high-quality, industry-led Education and Training products for SkillsEQuipped’s five industries. With the requirement for you to understand and follow the training product development process.
- You’ll ensure that SkillsEQuipped training products and compliance are delivered, in line with the defined process. You’ll contribute to the development of documentation required to support the training product endorsement process including the Training Product Submission document and companion volume implementation guides.
You will ensure that new and revised accredited training products:
- Meet the needs of industry, learners and the economy.
- Comply with the Standards for Training Packages including the requirements of the Training Package Organising Framework (TPOF) – particularly the Standards for Training Packages (The Standards), Training Package Products Policy (TPPP) and Training Package Product Development and Endorsement Process Policy (TPPDEPP).
- Support the portability of skills and competencies including any licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Reflect national agreement about the core transferable skills and core job-specific skills required for job roles as identified by industry.
- Are flexible to meet the diversity of learner and employer needs, including the capacity to adapt to changing job roles and workplaces.
- Facilitate recognition of an individual’s skills and knowledge and support movement between the school vocational education and higher education sectors
- Responsible for undertaking a range of administrative duties to support training product development including preparing meeting papers, taking and distributing minutes
- Support the sourcing, recruitment and engagement of contractors such as Product Developers, Subject Matter Experts and Instructional Designers.
- Undertake the development of innovative, compliant and ‘fit for purpose’ learning resources and professional learning approaches to support the implementation, monitoring and compliance of training products
- Assist with other implementation, monitoring and compliance activities as required.
Stakeholder Engagement: Critical to your success, will be your ability to engage and consult with a diverse range of stakeholders including employers, employees, peak bodies and Unions, government bodies, RTOs, other JSCs and indeed the learners themselves.
- You’ll build strong professional working relationships with key stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of accredited and non-accredited training products.
- Lead working groups and collaboratively participate in committees, roundtables, workshops, forums etc. supporting the Training Product Development process.
- Undertake required consultation to support the development of high-quality training products.
- Establish and maintain consultation logs demonstrating engagement with key stakeholders throughout the training product development process.
- Liaise across the SkillsEQuipped functions that oversee Stakeholder Engagement, Operations, Insights & Workforce Planning and Quality Outcomes & Governance Teams
- Respond to enquiries from a range of stakeholders regarding the 6 Training Packages under SkillsEquipped remit, including queries relating to implementation of training and assessment.
