Trainee - Unaccredited Position

Description:

To provide effective medical care to inpatients at David Berry Hospital. The 9-bed in-patient unit is managed by the NUM; GP VMOs provide medical responsibility and there is occasional support from local staff specialists. The Unaccredited Trainee will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support of patients, including liaising with the community palliative care team and GP as necessary to facilitate handover of patients, and the team at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital to support transferred patients.

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

• Able to demonstrate relevance of palliative care training to chosen career path

• Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills and judgement and expertise

• Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Sufficient skills knowledge and experience to practice as a safe and competent palliative care trainee

• Demonstrated commitment to participate in after hours, weekend and on-call rosters

• Moderate computer skills
