The Company

Our client, based in the SE suburbs of Melbourne, specialises in the concept, development, validation and production of custom automotive solutions which are designed to improve driving safety and comfort. The organisation is expanding rapidly and they are seeking a Test Engineer.


 

The Job:

The Test Engineer will be required to perform testing to support the quality of our client’s product range and customer requirements, as well as maintain the laboratory facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Product Testing - Design Verification Plan Release (DVPR) and End of Line Production.
  • Create Design Verification Plan Release (DVPR), and other test documentation.
  • Plan and allocate staff and facility resources [internal and external] to complete test activities on time per agreed DVPR or project timing.
  • Provide quotations on test activities.
  • Test product to internal and external [customer] standards, at a reasonable rate of completion, using internal and external facilities, to determine products are fit for purpose meeting customer, performance and quality expectations while minimizing liability to the company with respect to warranty and recalls.
  • Report on test progress at a frequency determined by management.
  • Report on test outcomes and ensure DVPR, and other test documentation is completed to a high standard.
  • Peer review and approve test plans and reports before release to ensure designs meet functional and quality requirements.
  • Design, Record and Build Design Verification Plan Release (DVPR) testers.

Other

  • Ensure machines, tools and equipment are kept in an orderly manner; ensuring they are maintained, calibrated, serviced and repaired when necessary, in accordance with a calibration and maintenance schedule.
  • Ensure all work practices comply with regulatory safety requirements.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Laboratory Supervisor during periods of absence.
  • Ensure compliance to processes and ISO/TS/IATF standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality of commercial information.
  • Ensure prompt escalation to management on issues that negatively affect team morale, project status or workflow.
