Description:
As the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be joining our team at our Curragh North Project, located 30kms from Blackwater in Central QLD where you will lead the Mine Planning Department to provide accurate, timely and innovative mine plans that can be implemented safely and efficiently. You will lead development and communication of standardised systems and processes for mine planning and provide mentoring and guidance to the Mine Planning team on-site.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the mid and short-term mine plans, with technical input and mentoring provided to the Mine Planning team.
- Technical input and review of the Annual and Life of Contract Mine Plans.
- Facilitate periodic reviews of all critical mine planning inputs and reconcile actual versus planned performance.
- Participate in regular client and internal meetings to address ongoing mine planning methodologies, and strategies.
- Ensure regular engagement and work collaboratively with site technical services personnel and provide mentoring in technical development.
- Understand and communicate contractual requirements both internally and with client.
- Identify project risks from a technical, HSE and cost perspective during the mine planning phase so as to ensure their potential impacts on the project are identified, documented and communicated.
- Ensure that risk management checklists are used for mine design and scheduling activities.
- Ensure that appropriate risk mitigation strategies are identified and make recommendations to Technical Services, Site and Project Management teams.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications,
- Previous experience in a technical services senior role,
- Extensive experience in a mining engineering environment,
- Proven ability to manage a team with positive outcomes,
- Can demonstrate positive stakeholder engagement,
- Proficient in financial, mine planning and scheduling packages,
- Analytical and strategic thinking as well as problem solving and lateral thinking,
- Knowledge of the relevant regulations, guidelines and Australian standards.
