The Technical Services Team delivers outstanding support to students, academics and researchers for enhancing education and research output. The Technical Services Team provides a platform for collaboration across the University, broad industry involvement and community engagement through focused customer service based on exceptional personnel skills and expertise. The Technical Services Team works closely with Academics and professional teams as well as the Infrastructure Branch to ensure efficient utilisation of teaching, office, workshop and laboratory space. Being committed to Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) values, the team manages safe operations across the Faculty labs and workshops.

The Chemical and Analytical Services team supports the activities of the new SET faculty, in the areas of chemistry, chemical analytical facilities chemical lifecycle and chemical waste management. The team supports undergraduate and postgraduate education, training and research with both national relevance and global outreach and networks in the public and private sectors.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety management requirements relating to the use of chemicals
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using a range of analytical equipment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical services and principles associated with achieving customer focused outcomes.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and initiative to learn new skills and processes to achieve an outcome.
