About your new role
As a key part of Business Performance Branch, the Team Leader Business Support is responsible for providing a range of high level project and business support services in a manner that enhances the quality and performance of the Water and Waste Directorate Leadership Team, and the broader business. An integral member of the branch, the position will be responsible for line management of the Water and Waste Business Support Team, developing and streamlining administration processes, establishing standard procedures, and promoting excellent customer service.
- Lead a team of PA and Administration Officers to provide high-level, complex administrative support and customer service.
- Promote and encourage team co-operation and commitment, fostering an environment of productivity, positive development and learning.
- Review, develop and implement business processes and procedures that are efficient, effective and meet the needs of the Unit's customers in accordance with quality requirements.
- Apply research skills to ensure documentation meets requirements of legislation and reflects any changes in legislation where relevant.
- Drive opportunities for business and process improvement.
- Oversee regular quality monitoring of services, including measurement and review of services.
- Provide regular business reporting to inform branch and work unit operational decision-making.
- Keep abreast of developments within the branch/directorate and look for opportunities to improve effectiveness of processes and level of customer service.
- Review staff performance, including input into developing performance development plans.
- Engage with other members of the branch management team and senior officers to achieve the Branch's business outcomes in an integrated and cost effective manner.
- Provide mentoring and knowledge sharing to support staff in the provision of a customer and results focused service.
- Develop and implement change and business development initiatives and minor projects within the section to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
What you bring to your new role
- Demonstrated experience / ability to lead, mentor and supervise a team tasked with delivering business outcomes, providing advice and support.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling and reviewing team and individual workloads and priorities within relevant business timeframes.
- Sound knowledge, or the ability to acquire knowledge of policies, procedures, systems and legislation relevant to the role and business.
- Ability to think laterally, problem-solve, develop and implement solutions.
- Work productively in a team environment and foster good working relationships.
