Description:

This position is responsible for managing the full range of academic administrative activities and processes that support UniSA STEM's development and delivery of its programs and courses in support of our research.

The Team Leader: Program Services is the key reference point for academic administration and is a conduit between UniSA STEM and central units. It is responsible for ensuring the correct and consistent interpretation and application of the University’s academic administration policies and procedures within the Unit.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and management to the Program Services team, including performance management and professional development
  • Provide functional supervision to professional staff, acting as a reference point to answer queries or resolve issues across the range of business services, as appropriate to ensure high quality program and student services are provided to students, staff and visitors
  • As a member of the program services leadership team, role model best practice and a one-team collaborative culture, ensuring open communication and accountability
  • Contribute to UniSA STEM’s strategic planning and review processes in relation to programs through the provision of reports relating to the assessment and analysis of STEM’s performance across all distinct disciplines’ programs and courses


Essential Skills and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Strong transformational leadership capabilities, demonstrated by experience in leading and managing a team in a complex service environment, and driving its performance and positive contribution to workplace culture
  • Demonstrated experience working in a senior administrative position in a complex service environment, including leading a team in the provision of superior quality customer service
  • High level verbal and interpersonal and problem solving skills including experience in liaising with people at all levels both internal and external to an organisation to provide advice and recommendations to senior staff
  • High level writing skills appropriate to prepare briefings and/or reports based on self-initiated or directed research, investigation and analysis for a wide range of audiences
