Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas of criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 27 offices.

About you

We have two or more ongoing/temporary full-time opportunities in our Grants Division at Central Sydney as a Team Leader, Clerk Grade 5/6. As a team leader, you will:

• Supports the Director Grants by supervising, leading, guiding, developing, training and monitoring a team of Grants Officers in the delivery of high quality, client-focused services in accordance with Legal Aid NSW policy and budget requirements.
• Assess, administer and determine applications / extensions for grants of legal aid across a range of matters in family, civil and criminal law, within policy, guidelines and delegations.
• Contribute to the development of systems and practices for grants of legal aid, and manage the development and allocation of services and budgets for the work of the team based on operational experience and contacts with applicants and stakeholders.
