Full time 1.0 FTE permanent Careers Teacher within the Riverina Access Partnership. This position will be the careers teacher across six schools, Ariah Park enrolment 140, Ardlethan enrolment 63, Barellan enrolment 88, Lockhart enrolment 84, Hillston enrolment 204 and Oaklands enrolment 60, Central Schools. This position can be based at any of the six schools as negotiated through Ariah Park Central School.
This position is to provide information, guidance and advice to help students explore their education and career options, support a work experience program, create a resume, search for jobs, apply for jobs and/or apply for further study. This position will also include a role in student transitions.
Expectations of the role will be to liaise with parents, teachers, employers, community agencies and training providers. To support the schools to give all students inspiration, insight, encouragement and confidence to help them make life choices and build a successful career across multiple, Kindergarten to Year 12, campuses.
1. Approval to teach careers or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in the Careers Adviser qualifications approved by the New South Wales Department of Education
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to form productive relationships with students, families, staff, local communities, support networks and external agencies, across multiple school campuses.
3. Capacity to lead whole school and personalised programs that provide information, guidance, and advice to help students explore their passions and their educational and career aspirations.
4. Demonstrated applications of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to communicate, plan, organise and collaborate.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Careers Adviser qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
