Spearwood Primary School is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
We are looking for Kindergarten to Year 6 classroom teachers that embrace the evidence-based strategies in place across the school. The teachers are highly motivated and committed to raising literacy and numeracy achievement implementation of whole school approaches in including Explicit Instruction, Talk for Writing, Heggerty, differentiated learning, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and the integrated use of technologies.
Suitable applicants will have a strong understanding of WA Curriculum and will be able to use assessment data including Brightpath and PAT (Progressive Achievement Tests) testing to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class.
Suitable applicants use effective restorative practice and positive Behaviour Management classroom strategies. Applicants use values and resilience teaching programs including Six Kinds of Best, Highway Heroes, that raise the social and emotional skills of students. They create an effective, engaging, caring and inclusive classroom.
Spearwood Primary School is a small school with around 130 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our student population is drawn from a range of cultural backgrounds with many nationalities represented. Spearwood Primary became an Independent Public school in 2017 and is currently in its this third three-year Business Plan 2023 – 2025. Spearwood Primary School runs specialist programs in: Italian, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Health and Physical Education in 2023.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
