Description:
We are currently seeking Systems Safety Engineer within our Government Solutions Maritime domain to perform safety studies and analysis during the navy systems program lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide guidance and advice in the area of safety engineering
- Develop independent safety assessment plan to identify full scope of requirements in consideration of key stakeholders
- Perform maturity assessment or audit to establish safety management process, gather evidence that supports a view that safety risks are being managed
- Verify and validate underlying assumptions, safety and risk assessment activities and decisions made
- Maintain independence at all times, not become involved as a direct or indirect representative in the design, manufacture, construction, operation or maintenance of the system.
Experience required:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Engineering background within maritime
- Strong understanding of safety engineering practices and engineering methods as applied to defence
- Ability to coordinate, direct and evaluate system safety activities
- Demonstrated experience within acquisition and sustainment maritime Defence environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage varying stakeholders
- Collaborative working style, yet able to work autonomously
- High attention to detail and accuracy
