Exciting times to be joining the team as due to expansion, we are seeking experienced Systems Admin Engineers who would like OR already do have exposure to AWS!

You will work with some of Versent's key enterprise clients in a customer facing role. A strong Windows systems admin background is ideal, combined with knowledge of Linux. This role will be helping to progress from a reactive to a highly proactive engineering role, adding clear value to our clients, always with a focus on automation.

On a Daily Basis, You Will Be Responsible For

• AWS system administration : All services are hosted in AWS and you will be required to both Reactively and Proactively be able to investigate, identify and resolve issues.
• Enhance availability, performance and stability of services hosted in AWS as well as automating away repetitive work.
• Managing and resolving Incidents, Deploying changes for the client, participating in root cause analysis reviews.
• Respond to alerts to investigate issues in our services that you can really sink your teeth into
• Backup Administration and maintenance: Backups, restores and implementation
• AWS administration: IAM role maintenance, provisioning and decommissioning of new services
• BAU, work through daily tickets for resolution and look for opportunity to automate to reduce ticket count where possible

To Be Successful In The Role, You Will Have

• Linux experience required
• AWS Cloud experience would be highly valued – CloudFormation, Tags, ASGs, EC2, VPCs, CW,RDS, DDB, SNS etc.
• Scripting knowledge highly beneficial(ideally Powershell or Python), this helps in identifying issues when a service/application is in support and during troubleshooting
• Ability to identify, trouble shoot and resolve issues in a live environment
• Discipline in ticketing, reporting and relevant paper work including Creation of Root Cause Analysis reports for internal/external use
• Scripting knowledge highly beneficial(ideally Powershell or Python), this helps in identifying issues when a service/application is in support and during troubleshooting
• Good experience with Git, Artifactory and Jenkins (Gitlab experience valued highly)
• Strong communication skills
