Job Purpose

 

  • To perform all in-store configuration of new stores. This involves creating and running automated scripts to install the correct configuration data on a national basis.
  • The role also involves the implementation of all store level upgrades utilising the Tivoli Suite of products and a general understanding of scripting tools.
  • Provide support during the implementation process to the end user (customer)

 

Responsibilities

 

Execute

  • Utilize and maintain technical scripts to automatically configure and install computer equipment within in all store level Environments.
  • Provide support to Regional IT Coordinator’s and Store staff throughout the whole installation/configuration process of new premises.
  • Validate new store procedures when necessary and, wherever possible, create technical scripts for automation.
  • Provide technical support to Vendor staging centres.
  • Implement all software upgrades into both the Supermarket and Specialty PoS environments in line with the customer’s Stores Software Release Process.
  • Provide support to the implementation process.
  • Utilise Tivoli suite of products for implementation and support of upgrades and distribution of software and documentation.
  • Facilitate and provide assistance in finalising Stores Supermarket and Specialty PoS SOEs.
  • Take control and lead specific implementation projects that affect new store processes as required.
  • Provide user input into the central Store Information Database to assist in future development opportunities.
  • Assist Development teams by managing the Validation environments.
  • Participate in PIRs in line with Release Processes.

Skills

 

  • Strong understanding of the Retalix systems ISS400 and NT upgrade mechanisms
  • Scripting skills (Kix and others)
  • Tivoli suite of products (Remote Control, Software Distribution, Inventory and Alerting)
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of PCMS SRS and customer’s support processes
  • Ability to recommend process improvement in relation to configuration and implementation
  • Ability to streamline processes to ensure easy handover and cross training
  • Knowledge of retail software packages and processes
