We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic, and culturally sensitive individual to step into the role of Student Support Officer. In this key position, you will play an integral part in providing support to students from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds, including those facing unique challenges.

Working closely with the Student Support Coordinator, you will serve as a crucial point of contact for students, offering advice, information, and assistance across various aspects of University life and the UniReady program.

Curtin’s UniReady program looks to improve equity in education; enabling students to matriculate into Curtin and access higher education via an alternative pathway. The program aims to incorporate a high degree of flexibility and responsiveness that caters to students with a wide range of educational backgrounds, ages and experiences.

As a Student Support Officer, you will:
 

• Provide administrative advice and support for the UniReady program.
• Offer a confidential welfare, advisory, and referral service to UniReady students, addressing academic progress, engagement, success, and personal wellbeing.
• Interpret and analyse academic policies, guidelines, legislation, and administrative procedures, assisting students through processes and liaising with university departments as needed.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to stay updated on the University's course structures, programs, and progression requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with Course Coordinators and key Faculty staff to resolve complex student matters.
• Case manage students through early identification and intervention to support enrolment and progression.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and addressing key challenges faced by students.
