As the Student Experience Officer, you will play a vital role in creating a cohesive community for students and facilitating programs that develop well-rounded graduates. You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and dynamic team, as well as collaborate with various stakeholders across the University.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the delivery of student experience programs and events alongside the Student Experience team, adopting project and process management principles established by the team and integrating both on and offline delivery methods (where required).
  • Support the delivery of the Faculty of Science orientation and other on-boarding programs and events.
  • Coordinate and deliver several specific short-term, repeated programs or events throughout the year.
  • Develop and execute event management plans, which may include sourcing and setting up venues, coordination of catering, recruitment of volunteers, preparing AV and technical requirements.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate experience in designing and delivering programs that foster student engagement, wellbeing, and belonging, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team and independently. Experience in virtual event delivery and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud for basic video editing and desktop publishing are desirable.

You will also have:

  • A degree qualification or the equivalent combination of relevant experience in event and program management role, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience, education and/or training.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible and proactive approach to tasks within a busy work environment and the ability to organise work priorities, multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, professional and academic staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in end-to-end event and program delivery to deliver content and experiences with a focus on continuous improvement.
