Description:
Reporting to the lead structural engineer, you will support the structural design of foundations, steelwork for processing equipment, vessels, and pipe supports, as well as underground concrete works, culverts, and general non-processing infrastructure.
You will act as the main coordinator for workshare between various offices for assigned work areas, and perform detailed checks on work completed by workshare offices.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Preparing calculation packages in support of the design.
- Advising lead engineer when project scope is not clear and that assist with changes to comply with project change management processes.
Additionally, You Will Support The Lead Structural Engineer In
- Scope management and cross-disciplinary coordination to meet customer requirements.
- Proactively resolving discrepancies between the client and its customer’s project requirements.
- Communicating effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
- Identifying issues, developing solutions, and seeking assistance when needed.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Possess extensive experience in structural engineering design within the mining, energy, and/or infrastructure sectors.
- Prior experience in heavy industrial or petrochemical plant projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with finite element programs is a plus.
- Experience with software like MicroStation and AutoCAD would be beneficial.
- Demonstrate a keen attitude to learn new design tools and adapt to different project delivery methods.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Possess a sound understanding of relevant local and international standards, as well as statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in using structural engineering software such as StaadPro or Spacegass.
- Exposure to oil and gas facilities is desirable but not mandatory.
- Comfortable working across multiple platforms and environments, including Microsoft 365 suite and various collaboration tools.
