Council’s City Strategy unit is responding to the challenge – building and transforming the team to plan for a culturally, socially, environmentally and economically sustainable City.

About the Roles

We are seeking experienced leaders with multi-disciplinary experience in one or more of the following strategic capabilities; culture, economic development, social or environment, to fill several Strategy Manager roles. The roles will lead, motivate and develop a team of professionals, drive real impact and experience the unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of the City and the region.

Following a recent redesign, the City Strategy Team is becoming a multi-disciplinary team, shifting towards an agile operating model, which ensures we can target the strategic response to the City’s opportunities and challenges, towards prioritised outcomes. This approach is suited to those who are accustomed to fast-paced working environments, and can quickly change focus or prioritise their work program as needed.

About You

Applicants may come from a wide range of backgrounds, however they will be enthusiastic, driven and proactive, with the ability to work independently, efficiently and effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Executive Team, to deliver positive outcomes. This role will suit a person with a positive and proactive can-do attitude, who is creatively minded, achieves outcomes and can problem solve complexities.

Applicants will have:

• Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating diverse, multidisciplinary teams and delivering to a high standard to meet organisational and city needs
• Experience in the development of integrated approaches to strategy, utilising contemporary methodologies, in either private or public sector.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner.
