About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to grow your leadership profile, providing strategic advice to senior executives to ensure best practice communications and stakeholder engagement to promote the University’s profile domestically and globally. You will lead communications activities aligned to strategic objectives for the one of the most comprehensive Science faculties in the world.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategic Communications (Faculty and Graduate Schools), the Strategic Communications Lead for the Faculty of Science is responsible for developing and implementing integrated communications and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans that are designed to support the strategic objectives of the Faculty, as well as protect and enhance the University’s reputation.

  • Design and deliver programs spanning internal and external communications via a multi-channel approach to media and publicity, content, digital platforms and events.
  • Develop and deliver the Deans’ leadership communications plans and provide strategic advice to senior leaders.
  • Drive an integrated approach to internal communications across the Faculty and across the University.
  • Lead a small team of communication and event specialists to maximise opportunities for content development.

Your exceptional communication skills and relationship management skills enable you to effectively engage stakeholders, including executives, identifying and delivering to their needs. You are an effective leader with strong project management and creative problem-solving skills that enable you to navigate complex environments and deliver best-for-business outcomes.

You will also have:

  • Extensive work experience within relevant marketing and communications field and tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, finance, business or a related discipline
  • Communications experience in a similar role within a large complex environment, developing and implementing communication programs to effectively engage audiences.
  • A comprehensive understanding of managing stakeholders, issues and reputation.
  • Proven track record managing issues and crisis management in complex environments.
