Description:
We currently have a brand-new opportunity to lead and enable a Home Building and Assessing Team to deliver a competitive advantage to Auto & General through the ongoing development of a commercially sharp strategy and the consistent application of defined controls and operating rhythms.
You will provide direction, support, training and coaching to ensure the accountability and purpose of each member of the Home Building and Assessing team is clearly understood and skills are developed to support planned business performance.
This will be a full-time hybrid role and will be offered on a permanent full-time basis.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct responsibility for the New South Wales team including the Home Assessing Team Leader, Home Assessors, Repair Relationship Consultants and Home Building panel.
- Be the key department liaison for internal & External stakeholders.
- Identify and execute opportunities to optimise the cost quality and timeliness of assessments and repairs through the Building panel network
- Work closely alongside the Commercial Manager to vet and procure selected supplier services with appropriate governance, compliance and contractual frameworks, attending interstate when required.
- Coach, develop, mentor and support your Direct Report(s) to produce a highly engaged and technically strong, customer focused team and ensure service standards are met, including internal processes, OH&S regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
- Act as the escalation point in complex negotiations and high profile disputes working closely with the Claims Operations Team.
- Implement and oversee OH&S regulatory frameworks to ensure risks are stringently managed
- Monitor, manage and audit supplier performance to ensure that agreed Procurement protocols are executed in accordance with agreed contractual and best practice standards and generate the required cost and service delivery outcomes
- Closely monitor supplier capacity and capability within New South Wales to ensure adequate geographical and volume coverage to meet customer demand
- Identify and report on key trends within the team as well as external practices that could present risks or opportunities to Auto & General
- Work collaboratively and effectively across the end to end Home value chain and in particular State Manager peers to ensure controls consistently deliver against overall business objectives
- Maintain strong knowledge of market developments in Building Repair industry, regulatory requirements, company processes, systems, products and brands.
What Experience You’ll Bring
- Extensive Senior Leadership experience through leading teams for a minimum of 5 years including multi-functional disciplines and operating effectively as part of a team with accountability for business results
- Minimum 5 years’ experience and strong knowledge of the Home Assessing, Building Repair and Restoration environment and associated market practices and standards
- Strong commercial acumen and proven capability in the development and execution of strategic programs of work.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Strong verbal communication skills, effective with both customers and industry professionals when negotiating best business outcomes
- Strong, accurate written communication skills, including report writing
- Insurance and operational experience, building, assessing or supply chain management experience is ideal however not essential
