We are offering an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Clinician (including General Practitioner or Physician) to join the Northern Sydney Virtual Care Service based on the Royal North Shore Hospital Campus.

The Clinical Director, Virtual Care Service provides expert, professional, operational and strategic leadership for the virtual care clinical team in order to facilitate excellent patient and family centred care.

Working closely with the General Manager, Virtual Care Service and Executive Director Operations NSLHD, the Clinical Director will plan the future direction of the Virtual Care Service, providing expert guidance on all clinical matters on the development, implementation and delivery of a broad range of innovative virtual models of care across a broad clinical spectrum.

About Us

The Northern Sydney Virtual Hospital was established in 2020 to support and manage COVID-19 positive patients in the community with the aim of reducing admissions to Emergency Departments and hospital acute care services. From 2020 more than 30,000 patients have been managed and supported through the utilisation of telehealth platforms and remote monitoring by our dedicated multidisciplinary Virtual Care Team and from July 2022, we have supported the transition COVID Care to General Practitioners.

This year we introduced new models of virtual care for a range of medical, surgical and community services and programs across NSLHD and commenced research with clinical and academic partners to evaluate the benefits of virtual care.

We take pride in providing exceptional person centred care to patients in the community setting as an alternative pathway to a hospital admission, if their level care and healthcare needs can be met and managed safely via telehealth support.
