What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee a team of Spatial System & Data Specialists in the management, analysis, and optimisation of spatial data and technology to support efficient operations & decision making
- Design, manage, and maintain the GIS Database and environment, ensuring integration with other business systems and keeping licenses and support agreements up to date
- Act as a business partner and project manager for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to, in the context of GIS, the development of electronic workflows, data integration and metadata management
- Collaborate with Operations, and the wider business to provide spatial analysis and support for projects and daily operations
- Act as the Product Owner of GIS system, taking responsibility for its development, enhancements, and alignment with organisational goals
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field with demonstrated experience leading a technical team in a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of GIS principles, concepts, and technologies is essential, including proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or other industry-standard platforms.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, with experience in effectively managing complex GIS projects.
- Understanding of how GIS technology integrates with other utility systems, such as SCADA and EAMS, to facilitate data exchange and streamline operation
- Understanding of agile development methodologies and product ownership concepts, as this role serves as the Product Owner for the GIS system.
