The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) builds admission systems and provide bespoke services for universities across NSW and ACT. We’re the largest tertiary admissions centre in Australia, and we’re recognised as the leader in technology platforms within our industry. We have exciting national-scale projects underway, building brand-new systems that solve complex problems and drive efficiency improvements for our clients and the sector. We are leveraging various technology solutions such as integration APIs, Elasticsearch, Verifiable Credentials and Blockchain/DLT.

UAC has experienced significant double-digit growth and expansion of market share and capability. We’re looking for multiple Senior Engineers, both back-end and front-end, to contribute to UAC’s ongoing success.

Job Description

We focus on the tasks, not technologies. But here’s how we roll on a daily basis:

• All new solution designs are completely serverless!
• The back-end is entirely built on AWS serverless stack using Lambda, DynamoDB, Cognito, and other AWS services.
• We build simple, modern, UX focused front-end applications using React and Ant Design, or Angular and Material.
• We are also using Spring Boot, Grails and store data with Ingres, MySQL and Elasticsearch.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

We’d love you to have:

• Experience in back-end development using Java or related language, or experience in front-end development with React/Angular. Great if you can do both!
• Keen interest in experimenting with new technologies.
• Understanding of how to build simple, testable, easy to maintain code.
• Working collaboratively with cross-functional team members.
