Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to be part of the application development team based in our Sydney office. You will be building innovative industry leading web-based solutions as part our product suite in the Fintech space.

This technical role is responsible for the development and unit testing of HUB24 Fintech applications. The role is also responsible for the analysis and resolution of technical and application issues.

Preference will be given to candidates with financial services experience.

What will I be doing?

This is a pure development role in an Agile environment. Your typical day will be coding to requirements set out by our Product team.

You’ll also participate in technical team meetings and contribute to the culture of knowledge sharing in the function.

This role reports into the Software Engineering Team Leader based in Sydney. Our team are ordinarily based in our CBD office but work flexibly from home too.

What you’ll need to be successful

The position requires appropriate tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or equivalent with several years of specialist experience as a Software Engineer / Developer. 

Essential:

• Highly proficient with Microsoft .NET development using C# and Web development technology using ASP.NET, MVC, HTML, and a JavaScript framework
• High expertise and experience in relational database design and programming, in particular using Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge and experience of Angular, IOS/Android mobile development is a bonus
• Experience in NoSQL database design and programming would be highly regarded
• Comprehensive understanding of object oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
• Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, XP, or Kanban
• Strong academic background
