About the role

City of Parramatta Council is currently looking for a Social Media Officer who can use the full suite of social media tools, both paid and organic, to promote the organisation. As part of executing a holistic social media and digital marketing plan, you will use various analytics tools and platforms.
 

The Social Media Officer will support the administration of Council’s Social Media communication, campaigns and initiatives to grow and nurture social communities. This role will be responsible for executing Social Media strategy and ensuring that it adheres to Council’s brand, increases engagement for multiple audiences and achieves Council’s objectives. This role reports to the Social Media Advisor and is responsible for:
 

  • Assisting with the development and management of campaigns and content using effective media to convey Council messages and build Council’s social media presence.
  • Executing social media buy strategies to reach target audiences, manage communities, monitor content performance.
  • Assisting in producing analytical reporting with actionable insights to improve content performance across all paid, owned and earned social media channels and respond to the needs of stakeholders
  • Managing Council’s core social communities, ensure discussions are robust, respectful and adhere to platform rules or guidelines including management of sensitive subject matter.
  • Managing core social media platforms and external content developers to produce highly engaging and relevant content that aligns with digital product KPIs and strategic objectives.

 

About the person

Data driven with applied knowledge social media platforms, the successful candidate will be able to use their social skill set, which has been cultivated for a minimum of 3 years, to promote the use of best practice social media marketing approaches throughout the organisation.
 

This role requires someone who possesses a high level of autonomy, ability to prioritise, attention to detail, team orientation, cross-functional collaboration, resilience, adaptability, and an ability to get the job done.
 

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or other related field.
 

What’s on offer

We are offering an attractive salary from $77,313.80 p.a. plus Super. City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits which can be accessed by the successful candidate.
