Sheep Genetics Development Officer

Based in Armidale, we are on the lookout for a motivated Development Officer to work within the Sheep Genetics program in a permanent full time position.

The Sheep Genetics Development Officer will be responsible for client interactions, service delivery and extension activities that increase the adoption and awareness of Sheep Genetics’ services (LAMBPLAN and MERINOSELECT). This means you will play a pivotal role on improving adoption and awareness of Sheep Genetics’ services to the ram breeding sector of the Australian sheep industry

• Respond to client queries, data diagnostics involving Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBV) and other data management opportunities.
• Develop, review and/or upgrade of explanatory, marketing and communication materials.
• Create and maintain online and written training material for new Sheep Genetics clients and existing members.
• Write communication and extension articles for Sheep Genetics communications and marketing materials.
• Organise and present at workshops, training sessions, producer field days and industry events.
• A willingness to travel and interact with clients is essential
• Liaise with key stakeholders including accredited ultrasound scanners and breed societies to improve the delivery of Sheep Genetics products and services.
• Work with the research and development team (AGBU) behind the Sheep Genetics evaluations to help implement analysis improvements and new traits with ram breeders.
