We are a dynamic, multifaceted business seeking a Senior Solicitor – Legal Services and Advocacy, with passion and drive to support the business.

Your new role

This role reports to MIGA’s National Manager – Legal Services whilst also working under the direction of the CEO, and is responsible for:

Legal Services

• Providing advice, education and guidance to the legal services team on medico-legal issues and developments
• Coordinating and delivering in-house education to the legal services team
• Preparing and delivering presentations and participating on panels as required
• Preparing articles for publication as required
• Providing medico-legal advice to members and clients as required

Advocacy

• Leading MIGA’s advocacy efforts in medico-legal, health regulation and professional standards (under direction of National Manager – Legal Services)
• Developing submissions, position papers and conducting research at government, regulatory and professional levels on matters that significantly impact the medical and healthcare professions within the Guidelines for Advocacy
• Representing MIGA in external settings within the Guidelines for Advocacy
• Medical indemnity, general insurance and corporate regulation (under direction of CEO)
• Assisting the CEO with advocacy engagement and submissions
• Assisting the CEO with the development of topics and the CEO’s topic
• Assisting other presenters with the development of their topics and presentations.
