The Apps Framework team is part of the Zendesk Platform group, being responsible for the development and success of the Zendesk Apps system. With over 60,000 customers and 400 developers actively using and building with our product, our goal is to enable Zendesk products to be easily customised, integrated, and extended by third-party developers. We are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. The role will be focused on driving feature delivery for our products, while actively ensuring the stability and scalability of our systems to support a rapidly growing customer base.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Zendesk, you’ll utilise your experience, technical expertise and leadership skills to guide and enable our team of capable engineers to achieve the company goals.

What You Get To Do Every Day

• Work with a team of intelligent, passionate, and humble engineers who own their products and share a vision for what they build
• Work across a broad range of technologies including Go, Ruby, Javascript and AWS cloud services
• Work on building the tools for customer and external developers, including the Zendesk Application Framework, Zendesk Application Proxy and the newly built Zendesk Webhooks
• Collaborate on challenging and impactful projects with multiple global teams
• Maintain observability, stability and lead data-driven decisions
• Mentor other members of the team and advocate for engineering standard methodologies
• Proactively contribute to improve our infrastructure, code, and processes

What You Bring To The Role

• Fluency in one or more of the following languages: Typescript/Javascript
• Familiarity with frameworks such as React
• Ability to understand and present sophisticated concepts in a relevant and conscientious manner. Explain and reason your technical decisions clearly and effectively.
• Great collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Effectively work with multi-functional teams and departments.
• Ability to influence without authority, inspire and mentor others.
• Passionate about elegant, performant, and scalable code. A learning mentality and a desire to continuously expand your skills.
