About the Role


The purpose of this position is to develop BOQ’s broader Business Banking customer portfolio by retaining, growing and attracting profitable customer relationships in Corporate Banking and Property Finance through the delivery of outstanding customer service.

  • Increase Business Banking’s (Corporate Banking and Property Finance Business) diversified asset base through promotion of BOQ’s suite of products to the target market- specifically businesses with lending requirements greater than $5M or with an annual turnover greater than $20m (Corporate and Property).
  • Achieve the targeted level of profitability of new lending business.
  • Achieve a mutually agreed level of business calling activity Introduce new relationships to BOQ through a dedicated and active calling program to target markets.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers through the delivery of excellent service.
  • Ability to understand a diverse range of industries.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers through the delivery of excellent service. To be measured through customer surveys.
  • Manage a strong network of productive referral partners.
  • Provide referrals to business banking and the branch network.
  • Ensure all identified mandatory training is completed and assessments are successfully undertaken.
  • Provide direction, support, coaching and ongoing training to Corporate Business Analyst and Corporate Service Officer in order to develop business finance and credit analysis skills.
  • Facilitate and manage the flow of credit submissions through the internal assessment process.
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of compliance and tracking requirements.
  • Ensure staff are fully trained in Policy & Procedural requirements and complete their compliance training in a timely manner


About you?


Experience:
 

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in corporate banking.
  • Experience in preparing credit submissions for business loan applications.
  • Experience in negotiating with Corporate Banking customers.
  • Experience in cross-selling banking products.

 

 

Skills & Knowledge:
 

  • Substantial knowledge of general banking operations and lending.
  • Sound knowledge of the commercial market and competitor products.
  • Sound knowledge of industry changes.
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to identify an acceptable level of lending risk to BOQ and to maximise profit from that transaction.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial statements and assist with preparation of detailed credit submissions.
  • Proven ability to build strong referral networks.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet customer imposed time constraints.
  • High standard of oral and written communication.
  • Working knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 2000, MS Office and Microsoft Server technology.
