About the role
Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Project Officer.

The Senior Project Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating high-volume and strategically important, time and funding delimited, projects within the Office of the DVC (A). The core focus of the role is the coordination for the DVCA of the University’s suite of strategic educational initiatives, particularly its microcredentials initiatives, including WesternX, Institute for Applied Technology – Construction, New Education Training Model, the Postgraduate Transformation project and new industry and educational microcredential partnerships.

The Senior Project Officer is required to ensure these initiatives adhere to relevant policy guidelines and government legislation and regulation relevant to the projects undertaken. The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining both new and existing project management methodologies for the wider team. Creating and implementing innovative, timely solutions to a range of problems will also be expected. The Senior Project Officer undertakes high level liaison with internal and external stakeholders, and builds collaborative working relationships.

The Senior Project Officer is responsible for providing high level support primarily to the DVC(A) and more broadly to the Academic Division including ensuring all projects align with Sustaining Success, other relevant university strategies, and that the projects are measured for impact and achieve value for money. Responsibilities also include market and vendor research, preparation and coordination of reports, policies and submissions.
