The role
The role of the Senior Project Officer is to undertake a range of project management tasks related to the Health Equity, Making Tracks and other Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health initiatives aimed at improving the health of First Nations people residing across the North West Hospital and Health Service region.
The role will be responsible for ensuring the investment into Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health is being optimised to achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes, through effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 , there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent of this role to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Community.
Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate; this may include criminal history checks and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role compliance. VPD risk roles may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, COVID-19 and Influenza. New employees of Queensland Health and existing temporary or casual employees moving into permanent roles may be required to undergo a 3-month period of probation.
