Description:
Join a large Queensland government department as a Senior Project Manager on a new multi-year transformation program. Lead the successful delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring timely and scoped execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive discovery activities to maintain project momentum in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Play a leadership role in a team of multi-disciplinary specialists including Project Managers, Transformation / Engagement Specialists, Program Analytics, Architects, The EPMO and Subject Matter Experts.
- Develop, iterate and manage an implementable action plan to develop a sequenced business transformation roadmap of change, including an organisational wide view of the transformation’s approach, costs, benefits, risks, assumptions, constraints and dependencies.
- Develop, iterate and manage an implementable action plan to appropriately engage key stakeholders including Executive leaders, during the development of the transformation roadmap.
- Track the progress of activities, with regular reporting to key stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Team, Initiative Leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact the team’s success, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and work with key stakeholders to problem-solve and remove any barriers for the team
- Manage resource capacity planning and allocation to enable delivery of the team’s objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and enhanced ways of working.
About you:
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in end-to-end project delivery, with a track record of successfully managing complex initiatives
- Demonstrated experience working within highly regulated and complex environments, such as financial services or insurance
- Experience in large scale business transformation planning, with the ability to drive strategic change is desirable
- Proven leadership in managing and guiding teams of specialist resources to achieve project objectives
- Certification in project management (Agile/ PRINCE2/ PMI), lean methodologies, change management or process improvement would be highly regarded.
