Description:
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects, with a particular focus on ICT. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex and major projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, including complex and major ICT projects.
- Ensure projects align with organisational methodologies, controls, and requirements.
- Oversee full project implementation, including business change and benefits realization.
Stakeholder Management:
- Foster exceptional working relationships with key stakeholders across multiple organisations and disciplines.
- Develop resource plans in collaboration with the Manager, PMO, and the Manager, Resources.
- Manage internal and external project resources and service providers.
Project Execution:
- Deliver projects in accordance with approved baselines (scope, time, cost, quality, and benefits).
- Adhere to university procurement, risk, and finance guidelines, policies, and processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Produce and maintain high-quality project documentation for key stakeholders, including executive-level reports.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes, documentation, and toolsets.
Budget and Schedule Management:
- Manage project budgets and schedules, preparing financial status reports for management and university executives.
- Provide regular reporting on variances to scope, budget, timeline, and business case.
Data and System Security:
- Ensure the protection of university data and systems by adhering to published policies, standards, and processes.
- Report any suspected breaches, vulnerabilities, or security issues to the information security team.
Compliance and Safety:
- Participate in all university, team, and individual planning activities.
- Comply with university policies and practices in all aspects of work and conduct.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others by adhering to OSH and EO requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and extensive relevant experience or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
- Proven experience in managing complex and major projects, particularly with an ICT focus.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality documentation.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of increasing responsibility in the information technology sector, including significant experience managing and leading a team.
- Demonstrated extensive experience managing large and complex ICT projects, incorporating project and change management principles and integrating user and technical input to achieve business outcomes.
- Extensive experience managing vendors, contractors, consultants, and staff.
