Senior Product Manager

 

Description:


The Senior Manager Product (APAC) is a senior role responsible for driving a market-localised product experience, and a regional product roadmap that enhances sustained subscriber and revenue growth, and customer engagement and satisfaction with Disney+ in multiple APAC markets.

Working in a highly collaborative way with regional and global partners, this visible, influential and impactful role partners with APAC business functions including Strategy, Finance, Analytics, Legal, Corporate Communications, Business Operations & VX, Content, Marketing and Partnerships, Regional and Global PMO, and Global Product, Technical Account Management and Engineering teams. The APAC Product team also supports external platform and promotional partners in the region.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Product Management:

 

  • Be a clear, persuasive, and collegiate voice for the APAC customer and business, articulating and advocating for strategic product goals clearly linked to business strategy, and grounded in impactful commercial outcomes based on data-rich assumptions and financial forecasts
  • Own definition and delivery of a regional product roadmap and prioritised backlog for Disney+, with compelling business justifications and forecasts, aligned to global and regional DTC strategy
  • Productionising a defined product ‘intake’ process with Regional and Global Product, and collaborating closely with teams cross-functionally to raise product requests and prepare solid business case materials
  • Establishing and maintaining a consistent cadence with Global and APAC executives, presenting and advocating for the inclusion of APAC Product priorities
  • Establishing and maintaining processes for clear communication back to global and regional executives and other business stakeholders through regular status updates, showcases and roadmap readouts

     

Partnerships & Technical Account Management:

 

  • Support external distribution and promotional partners in the region, and the APAC Partnerships function, with product and technology elements of activities
  • Collaborate with the regional Partnerships and Marketing functions to define and deliver go-to-market plans.
  • Represent APAC Product on partnership cadences, including weekly calls with partners and global PMO, Technical Account Management and Product teams, and quarterly business reviews.

     

Leadership:

 

  • Share business strategy, set direction, and provide individual coaching to a small team of product professionals in Melbourne and Korea
  • Provide the team with regular quality conversations and opportunities for professional development
  • Consistently exhibit a strategic and growth mindset, and the ability to work in a highly self-directed and self-motivated way, while forming and maintaining positive and productive relationships with senior colleagues across the global business
  • Assist regional leaders with workflow planning, and provide added capacity for vision setting, reflection, measurement, optimisation, and communication

     

To be successful in this role, you will hold:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 10+ years in product and/or strategy roles within streaming businesses, ideally subscription / DTC.
  • Evidence of having led development of products to scale, with clear customer and revenue growth outcomes.
  • Outstanding critical thinking, teamwork, communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Deep understanding of the SVOD and media landscape, market forces, and consumer behaviour.
  • Proficient with relevant collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence, data analytics and visualisation tools such as Looker, and modelling tools such as Excel. Expertise in CRM systems such as Salesforce an advantage.
  • Bi or multi-lingual in Asian languages an advantage but not essential.
