Description:
As the Senior Procurement Specialist - SRM, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Corporate Services Group.
You will foster mutually beneficial relationships with strategic contracted supply partners. You will help to deliver value for money, manage performance and risk, whilst maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Ensure compliance and adherence of the Supplier Relationship and Performance Framework in line with Victorian Government Procurement Board (VGPB) contract management guidelines.
- Evaluate contractor performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
- Analyse and interpret contract provisions to achieve cost efficiencies and reductions where feasible.
- Create presentations and board papers to present to the Procurement Oversight Committee (POC)
- Facilitate contract management meetings with suppliers and internal stakeholders, maintaining detailed records of supplier communications and meetings.
- Develop effective strategies to encourage engagement of Aboriginal-owned, SME and Regional suppliers, and driving innovations with the key suppliers.
- Support the development of procurement and contract management processes, and practices frameworks across V/Line (includes training and coaching others).
About You
You are a seasoned Procurement Specialist, with extensive end-to-end Supplier Relationship Management experience. You are a confident written and verbal communicator, comfortable negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Be able to identify value, facilitate and lead joint value chain planning as a collaborative activity
- Previous experience and familiarity with VGBP guidelines, working within a government or large and complex organisation (desirable).
- Knowledge of government initiatives, policies, and best practice approaches to SRM (desirable).
- Strong commercial, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally, whilst influencing and managing change effectively
- Tertiary qualifications in procurement, supply chain or a related discipline (desirable)
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
