Description:
This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement process from start to finish. They identify procurement needs, develop procurement plans, issue procurement documents, evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance. The Senior Procurement Officer also provides guidance and support to the procurement team and business areas undertaking procurement and ensures compliance with procurement regulations and policies.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Procurement Services:
- Supports the adoption of procurement process and system across DevelopmentWA
- Provide advice, information and guidance on procurement related matters across the business
Management, Administration And Coordination
- Deliver and coordinate training content and programs for procurement knowledge and skills transfer for internal stakeholders
- Development and refine contract management, administration processes and procedures
Governance And Reporting
- Work with business areas to identify and support procurement needs, prepare requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluate bids and negotiate contracts to ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and policies
- Support internal and external audit reviews and undertake analytics relating to procurement and governance activities as required
Stakeholder Management
- Build and manage key supplier relationships to monitor their performance and assess risk, quality and pricing.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Qualification in Procurement, Business Management or other related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in procurement or other related work
- High level of interpersonal and organisational skills with demonstrated leadership
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate business drivers, priorities and challenges
- Comfortable in uncertainty and ambiguity
- Knowledge of statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks
- Knowledge of contract law and its application
- Ability to solve problems of complex nature and ability to prioritise tasks
- A strong focus on customers, to ensure that all procurement activities are carried out with the aim of meeting the needs and expectations of our customers
