Overview / Responsibilities:

Wood is recruiting for a Process Designer. We have a number of projects across mining and minerals where your expertise is required. This role is based in Perth requiring someone to start immediately/short notice on a 12 month contract basis with the potential to extend longer.

Wood is at the forefront of some of the world’s most technically challenging mining and minerals projects across a range of commodities, including the new wave of battery metal opportunities.

Based on current and upcoming study and project opportunities within our Mining & Minerals business, we are seeking suitably qualified technical expertise to be involved in a range of unique and technically diverse projects. You will join a team of like-minded, agile industry colleagues who are highly qualified, enthusiastic, experienced and recognised industry innovators who value working collaboratively to create new possibilities.

 


As a Process Designer you will:

  • Deliver best practice process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements
  • Drafting of process flow diagrams (PFDs)
  • Drafting of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Ensure designs are produced in accordance with project, discipline, statutory regulations, good practice and procedural requirements and ensure completion within required man hours and budget.
  • Use clear and timely communication regarding design change issues
  • Input to capital estimates including quantity calculations
  • Always work in accordance with method statements and risk assessments as provided

Skills / Qualifications:

Due to a range of study and project opportunities, we are looking for Process Designer with over 4 years of relevant experience. Your portfolio will include a number of mining and minerals projects and your excellent computer skills will ensure you are a frontrunner in this role. You will also have:

  • Experience with intelligent P&ID software required
  • Experience with Bentley OpenPlant PID software highly regarded
  • Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to identify risks and work safely
