Description:
The Data & Analytics Senior Platform Engineer reports directly to the Data and Analytics Platform and Operations Lead and is responsible for operating and supporting Intellihub’s new Enterprise Data platform and data solutions within it.
The role will be accountable for developing and maintaining operational practices for efficient data management, processing, and analysis. Actively evaluating and adopting new technologies and methodologies to enhance the Data & Analytics platform.
- Work on optimising cloud operating costs by implementing DevOps practices and automation techniques, leveraging appropriate tooling and methodologies.
- Collaborate with teams to implement self-service capabilities and executive-level dashboards for monitoring operational health, service levels and platform operations, to provide greater optimisation of operations.
- Demonstrate expertise in platform engineering, covering infrastructure and DevOps practices, to support the team in effectively delivering solutions.
- Configure and manage cloud services such as databases, storage, messaging, and networking components to support platform requirements.
- Utilise proficiency in code management, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices, and modular design principles to maintain high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Apply infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reliability across environments.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain infrastructure code repositories, versioning, and deployment pipelines to facilitate efficient infrastructure management.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead utilising DevOps practices.
About You
- Experienced in platform engineering, DevOps, and automation.
- Proven track record of delivering and supporting complex technical solution.
- Experienced in implementing and managing cloud solutions on AWS, including EC2, VPCs, subnets, security groups, IAM, and various data storage and security services.
- Knowledgeable and experienced with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Experienced with version control systems like Git, Bitbucket, and GitHub.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions to ensure reliability, performance, and security of the platform.
- Familiarity of Databricks Lakehouse for data management and analytics. (Optional but helpful)
- Proven track record of delivering and supporting complex technical solutions.
- Strong grasp of the ITIL framework and ITSM principles, able to work in a fast-paced Agile environment.
