Senior Operational Safety Instructor

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a PSL 5 Senior Operational Safety Instructor within Security.

Security Branch is responsible for broad security functions that support the business of DPS protective security including security planning, capability, risk, policy and reporting. The Branch works with many different Australian Parliament House (APH) stakeholders, including the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the Department of the House of Representatives, the Department of the Senate, the Ministerial Wing Support, and other entities within the Parliamentary precincts.
The Senior Operational Safety Instructors (OSI) are responsible for the safety, facilitation, assessment, and remediation of core skills training provided to the Parliamentary Security Service.
In support of the Training Team, the OSI will provide, contemporary facilitation through modern training methodologies, and assess competency within an adult learning environment

Who we are looking for

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated ability in facilitating operational safety training within a government, military, or law enforcement agency.
• Ability to research, develop and implement a range of contemporary security training methods for an adult learning environment.
• Capacity to effectively communicate to a variety of internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving delivery of PSS training packages.
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and provide high quality written documents.
