Your opportunity

 

Cardno’s Ports & Maritime team is seeking a Senior Maritime Engineer to join their team. You will be involved in designing innovative solutions to a variety of maritime projects including international aid projects, multi-disciplinary maritime facilities and field inspections across Australia and the Pacific.

 

Our Ports & Maritime team is geographically dispersed across APAC where you will lead a variety of projects including port and harbour works such as wharves, jetties, dolphins, piles, boat ramps, pontoons, sheet pile, seawalls, revetments, aids to navigation, channel design etc. This senior role will collaborate with the wider APAC team focusing on technical excellence, efficient client service and networking in identifying business opportunities.

 

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • End to End project delivery on maritime and ports infrastructure projects

  • Structural analysis and design and coordinate drafting activities

  • Undertake site inspections and condition assessments

  • Prepare high quality reports and proposals

  • Interface with clients in a positive manner and develop strong network connections

  • Collaborative within a project group of geotechnical engineers, coastal engineers and other disciplines to deliver design solutions

  • Contribute to business development activities

 

About you

 

To be successful you will display –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Established technical knowledge in maritime structures design and/or bridge structures design

  • Ideally have familiarity in steel, concrete and timber design including knowledge of AS1170, AS1720, AS3600, AS4100 and AS4997

  • Successfully completed and managed a variety of maritime and/or structural design projects

  • Proficiency in structural analysis packages such as Microstran, SpaceGas, StaadPro or similar.

  • Strong problem solving, time management and organisational skills including the ability to manage resources and delegate tasks effectively.

  • Ability to manage and deliver projects to budget, scope and quality in a multi-disciplinary environment
