Our Global Technology SMARTS Surveillance technology powers surveillance and compliance for over 40 marketplaces, 11 regulators and 100 market participants across 65 markets globally. Scalable to millions of transactions and flexible to handle a number of unique data sources, SMARTS Surveillance holistically examines scenarios across multiple venues and asset classes.

SMARTS Surveillance technology is undergoing exciting changes including modernization of the front end technology stack, changes in our CI/CD pipelines and tooling, migration to the cloud and changing the way we work through an Agile transformation. Due to this results-oriented and exciting change agenda, we are currently seeking a Senior Manager in Software Development to join our SMARTS Core Development team.

As a Senior Manager, you will implement organization strategies through the effective direction and management of resources while being accountable for leading and managing a team of people, setting direction and deploying resources on varying projects, participating in organization-wide projects, and providing mentorship and expertise as needed.

As we seek to return to the office in September, you may be expected to come in about 2 times a week and work from home for the other days. Your in-office days could also still increase or decrease based on business need.

Your Roles And Responsibilities
 

  • Takes accountability for the performance and results of the team; plans and implements procedures and systems to improve operating efficiency
  • Motivates, develops, recruits and retains employees while rewarding and encouraging a culture of high performing teams
  • Provides technical mentorship to employees, colleagues and/or customers including code reviews
  • Resolves systems software design requirements
  • Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements short and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure
  • Aids employees in the goal setting and performance review processes; performs other talent management and development decisions as needed
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
  • Participates in both internal and external projects that are broad in scope and closely tied to the organizational strategy
  • Evaluates current business processes and systems and formulates department/unit policies and practices

  • Self-motivated technologist who can demonstrate through previous experience multiple examples of continuous improvements which has benefited Customers in a SaaS environment
  • A strong communicator with experience in communicating to business and technology partners
  • A degree in a subject area related to Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
  • You may be an experienced team lead (5+ years’ experience) or someone who has grown in the engineering ranks (15+ years’ experience) and is currently mentoring engineers but looking to step up to direct a team
  • Practical experience in J2EE systems especially in transactional or large or sophisticated data set processing
  • Experience in projects relating to transformation of monolith systems or migration from on-premise to cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Experience working with leading DevOps tools (e.g. Git, JIRA, Puppet, Jenkins, Terraform to name a few)
  • Experience working with globally distributed partners requiring flexibility to take meetings outside work hours
  • Capital Markets or Financial Services experience with Banks and Brokers as customers
