ING, Australia’s most recommended bank is looking for an experienced Senior Manager in Line 1 Risk to join our Consumer Lending Tribe.
The Senior Manager Line 1 Risk - Consumer Lending is responsible for the Operational, Regulatory and Compliance Risk activities undertaken in the 1st Line of Defence for Consumer Lending.
You’ll report directly into our Head of Consumer Lending & Wealth where you’ll be responsible for advising on the identification and management of non-financial risk (operational, regulatory and compliance) in line with the Risk Appetite Statement, policies and regulatory obligations.
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy facilitating and driving activities to identify, assess, understand and maintain business risk profile, working with business units to resolve problems and be ok with not every day being the same!
What are you going to do? You will be…
- Monitoring and tracking non-financial risk items (issues, events, audit actions) and ensuring timely actioning aligned to policy and procedure
- Providing reporting, analysis and insights to support Operations business leaders and Non-Financial Risk Committee in effective identification and management of non-financial risks
- Developing expertise in end to end processes supporting the Lending Operations business, and acting as a subject matter expert on relevant compliance and regulatory obligations
- Acting as an Advisor for the Executive level Operations teams in the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of non-financial risks including development and maintenance of the business risk profile and assessment of Risk in Change
- Playing a leadership role in the Business Controls Office, helping drive the team to achieve objectives across the business
What are we looking for? Someone who has…
- 5+ years of relevant experience of which must have demonstrated experience in 1st Line Risk
- Broader operational and product experience within lending would be a bonus
- Experience in a customer environment, where the customer needs are at the heart of the proposition development
- A natural curiosity, is passionate about the business and who will thrive in a team environment
- Initiative and drive, a true self-starter who is a strong collaborator and can influence to drive outcomes and manage stakeholder expectations
- A holistic view, and able to determine priorities based on context
- Strong influencing skills and ability to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved whilst managing stakeholder expectations
- Excellent understanding of operational risks and control frameworks in Banking
