To be successful in this diverse, executive leadership role you will require strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and lead a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies. You will be responsible for managing issues and briefings in relation to matters that impact the TAC, its clients, the wider Victorian Government and the Commonwealth Government. Some key initiatives you will be responsible for delivering over the next 12 months include various audit recommendations for information and privacy, an internal policy design for the TAC and building key relationships with our Minister’s office and the wider Victorian Government. With no two days the same, we are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic and flexible environment and has a passion for leading a diverse branch who are focused on delivering results.

The External Affairs branch sits within the Marketing, Communication and External Affairs division and is made up of a supportive and inclusive group of individuals who value wellbeing and enjoy the work that they do. You will be coming into a new leadership team, and be responsible for supporting 5 team managers who are subject matter experts in their fields.

You will be responsible for leading and influencing four main functions:

  • Government Relations both internally and externally
  • The TAC’s legislation and subordinate legislation program
  • Legal Policy issues and;
  • Information and Privacy

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-level strategic, tactical or operational advice on a range of matters to senior stakeholders.
  • Extensive leadership and management experience including the ability to inspire and manage multi-functional teams to foster a high performing and collaborative culture.
  • Experience in preparing briefing Materials for Government.
  • Experience in leading and delivering legislative amendments and subordinate legislation programs.
  • Extensive experience working within a legislative or dispute resolution framework.
  • Thorough knowledge of government policy and regulation.
