- Implement key agreements with stakeholders including financiers
- Complete staff reviews in a timely and thoughtful manner
- Provide financial leadership in implementing business plans and forward planning
- Lead and provide efficient and effective management of the finance team through weekly meetings
- Be proactive in managing and leading the finance team to improve their contribution to the business units they liaise with, and ensure effective staff development and recruitment
- Deliver effective financial reporting systems to support organisational decision making, in particular with timely monthly, quarterly and full year reporting
- Provide strong budgeting and forecasting capabilities to assist the executive team with understanding the likely cash flow and financial position of the Group at key points in the future, including reviewing, monitoring and analysis of financial performance against budget / forecast
- Provide effective cash and capital management to ensure key future commitments are met and the Group is prepared to meet those commitments when they occur
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory, management and regulatory accounts
- Ensure that internal controls are reviewed and managed to maintain strong governance around key accounting functions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual accounting requirements
- Assist with tax planning and ensure tax compliance obligations (e.g. income tax, FBT, GST etc) are lodged and paid in a timely manner
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in accounting or related field
- Strong technical accounting experience in either a service or professional services environment
- CA/CPA qualified
- Excellent communication skills and commercial acumen
