We are seeking a suitably qualified Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Construction Management/Construction Technologies in the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, School of Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic Academic to work across a number of Swinburne’s Centres and Research Institutes including Centre for Sustainable Infrastructure and Digital Construction, and the Innovative Planet Research Institute.
We are seeking a dynamic candidate to undertake teaching and research activities in areas related to construction engineering and management. This position would require a suitable candidate with specialisation in one or more of the following areas: Construction Management, Technologies for Construction and Maintenance, Building Information Modelling, Construction Automation, Digital Twins for Buildings and Infrastructure and Sustainable Construction.
In teaching, the position will contribute to the teaching programs of the Department at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the construction management areas, including a new undergraduate degree in digital construction. You will assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties, including developing and supporting academic programs and working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation. It is expected that you will also to mentor and support students on academic matters, and will also supervise Honours, and Masters Coursework students.
In research, you will work in a collaborative team environment to develop new areas of research and contribute to the University’s research excellence and impact in partnership with external partners. The primary research expectation of the position is to make original and innovative contributions to the advancement of future urban infrastructure and digitalisation of construction practices in areas related to construction, roads, transport, water and infrastructural lifelines, and development of disruptive interventions and technologies that will enable step-changes in emerging and future smart infrastructure practices. It is expected you will also mentor and supervise higher degree research students.
The position will be located in the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering and the successful candidate will have opportunities to work across a number of Swinburne’s Research Institutes.
