We have an exciting opportunity to come join Swinburne University as our new Senior Lecturer in Architectural Engineering. Playing a critical role in the overall students’ experience, teaching quality, and development of graduate outcomes, you will represent the course in the best interests of students, staff and the University and actively engage internally and externally to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The appointment is split equally between two Departments: The Department of Architectural and Industrial Design in the School of Design and Architecture, and the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering in the School of Engineering, reporting to Department of Civil & Construction Engineering.

It is expected that you will have demonstrated experience as an Engineer and bring industry connections and a clear understanding of industry needs that will contribute to Swinburne University’s objectives as a leading institution for design and engineering education and research. The incumbent of the position will be expected to carry out appropriate activities to maintain and develop their scholarly, research and professional expertise in order to contribute to the education of the next generation of architectural engineering practitioners, and to the advancement of knowledge in a rapidly evolving social, cultural and technological field. You will have a demonstrable track record in gaining competitive research income, producing high quality research outcomes and conducting research in multi-disciplinary teams.

Part of the expectations of academic staff, may involve assuming roles of defined periods that offer the opportunity to demonstrate leadership and service outputs necessary for career progression and development. This can include positions such as Major Discipline Coordinator.

For continuity, the role of Major Discipline Coordinator for Architectural Engineering within the Bachelor of Engineering will be for a period of five years, reviewed annually. As a Major Discipline Coordinator in Architectural Engineering you will provide a strong contribution to the curriculum development, teaching and research within this course major.
