Senior Java Developer

“This newly created Senior Core Java Engineer role involves working within a APAC Regional team for an iconic global investment bank within Market Data.”

You’ll be working in the Core Platform Market Data East team in Sydney, Australia. This team maintains a mature global market data (MDS) solution that is a pivotal part of the order management (OMS) application stack with whose teams they collaborate.

The solution is high volume, high availability, and high profile. Focus is on quality. Performance is achieved through adherence to internally developed Java GC-free networking and collections libraries and efficient low-level code.

This role comes with a range of responsibilities such as:

• Develop high performance, low-latency core Java code
• Engage with full SDLC of our global market data distribution platform for APAC markets by applying UBS Agile Playbook
• Build unit and regression tests for CI/CD
• Maintain DEV/QA environments
• Collaborate across the wider core platform crew and across other streams such as Unix admin, Network and Market Data Links
• Provide L3 support for production issues

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• Core Java (1.8 or later), weighted toward systems programming, I/O, GC-free, data-structures, low-latency, binary data
• Linux, including sys/admin, scripting in some of Bash/Python/Perl.
• APAC Exchange connectivity via FIX/Itch and Refinitiv ETA API
• SDLC in Agile environment with experience on Gitlab, CI/CD Pipelines, Maven, JIRA, Confluence, IntelliJ, jUnit, Groovy, Azure, Docker
• UDP/TCP network protocols
• Financial Markets with understanding of Equities/ETD market and static data
