Description:
This role will see the appointed candidate develop, maintain, implement, and support custom in-house solutions to meet specific business needs and provide expected business benefits. This will require analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation and deployment of solutions. You will also provide 3rd level technical support for in-house and 3rd party products including Out of the box (OOTB).
Key Duties And Responsibilities
General
- Follow reasonable directions to maintain business continuity of critical business activities in the event of an unplanned disruption, including but not limited to a disaster or event.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the IT industry/emerging technologies, and relevant legislation, policies, procedures and opportunities through analysis, research, analysis of key metrics and industry expertise.
- Ensure all incidents/requests/changes are categorised/recorded efficiently and correctly, appropriate artefacts are captured and updated, and identify and drive opportunities for business/process improvement based on observance of re-occurring issues and trends.
Development
- Design, code, test, correct, and document moderately complex programs, scripts and databases from agreed requirements, specifications and subsequent iterations.
- Produce and maintain policies, standards and procedures for on-going development, management and support of solutions.
- Plans and drives software construction activities. Develops, adopts and adapts appropriate software development methodologies (SDLC - plan-driven approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches), tools and techniques
Support
- Utilise specialist expertise and professional skills to facilitate and execute the installation and maintenance of system software and databases, including data management products, automation products and other utility software.
- Install or decommission system software in accordance with agreed standards.
About you:
- Specialist experience with commercial development tools and languages such as C, C#, C++, .Net, Java, CSS, HTML, JS / JQuery, AJAX / JSON, XML / XSL, T/SQL, PL/SQL and ETL tools such as SQL Server.
- Significant experience providing 2nd and 3rd level support for COTS products and in-house developed solutions including data analysis.
- Extensive experience in one or more development disciplines – application, web, database, integration etc.
